CAD bloke, did you see the AutoCAD version and flavor combo boxes contain anything? You could also try the AutoCAD locator widget to see if any and what AutoCAD versions/flavors have been installed.
If all AutoCAD versions and flavors could be properly found there, there must be something else going on. Detailed descriptions including screenshots should be helpful to trouble shoot the issue.

Aw, I wish TypePad would tell me about comment replies. I missed this. :( I will check this out for you - it may take me few days.

I think it may have been because I had no AutoCAD on the machine I tried it on (too long ago, I'm too old, don't remember).
I tried it on a VM with AutoCAD 2007 - 2016 installed + VS2013 and it created a project ok, and I saw all the versions of AutoCAD in the dropdown. It did take a few minutes, I thought it had crashed, but that may have been a rogue extension. I haven't used Visual Studio in this VM in a while.
Let me know if there's a log I can send you if you want me to.
cheers
Ewen

For others who land here, make sure you follow the instructions at http://spiderinnet1.typepad.com/blog/2015/10/index-of-features.html - I needed to run the VSIX to get the toolbars. It all works well now. :)

CAD bloke, thanks for the info. Yes, the AutoCAD .NET Addin Wizard (Pro) needs some AutoCAD to be installed to work as expected. It takes some moments to figure out all the AutoCAD installation details if many versions and flavors are installed. It does not have a logging system so far. We are planning to add one for future versions as it will help diagnose issues, especially tricky ones.
Also, thanks a lot for pointing out the instruction page is helpful. Glad to know things are fine now.
