The build #0.6 of AutoCAD .Net Addin Wizard (AcadNetAddinWizard) has been rolled out. It has a lot of new features and feature enhancements. It has also addressed some issues and bugs.
It is a great news for all AutoCAD programmers especially those AutoCAD flavor users/developers and those VB.NET lovers.
In this build, all AutoCAD flavors having the .NET API (or even having only COM interfaces) have been supported such as AutoCAD Civil 3D (C3D), AutoCAD Map 3D (Map), AutoCAD Architecture (ACA), AutoCAD MEP (AME or AMEP), and AutoCAD Mechanical (ACM). Not only will the AutoCAD flavors be automatically referenced into the project if opted, but also their corresponding namespaces be imported into the source files regardless of C# or VB.NET. Better part is that the good and necessary .NET assemblies along with their namespaces will be automatically detected from the single AutoCAD (Flavor) product/version selection. Programmers do not have to manually remove something wrongly (hard) referenced or imported in or have to manually add something that is missed out.
The Entity Jigger and the Draw Jigger item wizards have been fully integrated into the build and worked with both C# and VB.NET. All other project wizards, item wizards, coders, and widgets have been fully tested with C# and VB.NET on different environments to make sure they behave well and the auto-generated code/project compiles and builds fine. VB.NET lovers will love this build.
Another important feature is that the backward compatibility is perfectly maintained in the build. If the selected product/version is the AutoCAD Vanilla, nothing extra/unnecessary will disturb your minds or the wizard workflow. If the .NET assemblies of the AutoCAD Flavor (if the selected product/version is) are not of concern at all, the extra button/option can just be skipped, and everything will behave exactly the same as before.
Besides all the above, there are some more wonderful stuffs, either newly provided or already there for some time but not discovered or talked about yet. All these will be introduced and demonstrated in detail in some coming posts. Please stay tuned.
Give it a try and you will not miss all these.
